ROOTED IN THE HEART OF VERDUN SINCE 1974

Established in Verdun since its creation in 1974 and dedicated to the issue of youth employment, the organization was legally constituted four years later (incorporated on June 7, 1978) under the name “Service 15-20”.

In 1984, it obtained a subsidy from the “ministère de la Main-d’œuvre et de la Sécurité du revenu du Québec” under the “Services Externes de Main-d’œuvre (SEMO)” program. On September 29, 1992, to better represent the age group it serves, the corporation changed its name to “Formation à l’emploi Service 18-30”. Towards the end of 1995, the Verdun community recognized the need for a “Carrefour jeunesse-emploi (CJE)”, and the organization became actively involved in the project.

In November 1996, following a local consensus on the subject, the corporation welcomed the “Carrefour jeunesse-emploi” under its roof, expanding its clientele to include 16- to 35-year-olds; new services were gradually put in place, and some services already offered were developed further.

In 1999, the organization continued its mission under the name “Les Services d’Intégration Professionnelle”.

Finally, on January 31, 2017 the corporation changed its corporate name to “Carrefour jeunesse-emploi de Verdun” to better reflect the organization’s dynamism while retaining the name “Les Services d’Intégration Professionnelle” at the Registraire des entreprises.
