Voluntary work projects

Voluntary work projects are opportunities for young adults aged 18 to 35 living in Verdun / Nuns’ Island to get involved in their community, acquire skills useful for their future, and develop social ties with other fellow citizens and community organizations in the neighborhood.

At least once a year, the CJE Verdun sets up a community project that encourages young adults in the neighborhood to get involved, and to take ownership of local issues (food security, environment, urban agriculture, culture, and more!).

To find out more about our voluntary work projects, to submit a project idea or to be informed of upcoming projects, please contact us at 514-767-9971.

WHY PARTICIPATE IN ONE OF OUR PROJECTS?

WHY PARTICIPATE IN ONE OF OUR PROJECTS?

In addition to representing a gateway to other forms of citizen, civic or political participation, voluntary work involvement can influence the personal development of individuals.

Whatever the theme of the project, volunteers will have the opportunity to :

  • Contribute to a collective project that will have a positive impact on their community;

  • Acquire useful knowledge and skills for their future;

  • Expand their social and professional network;

  • Get involved while receiving a financial allowance for their participation!

The CJE de Verdun’s voluntary work projects are part of the “Créneau carrefour jeunesse” program and a component of the “Plan d’action jeunesse 2021-2024” of the Quebec government’s “Politique québécoise de la jeunesse 2030”.
